My writing assignment: I wish...

I wish I understood more about nature. Take these fish for instance:

Do you see them? That gargantuan school of fish went swimming by us last month at the beach. They were swimming so feverishly that they were loud. Loud slapping noises. That part was a bit disconcerting to me for some reason, but it was fascinating nonetheless. It made me wonder...where were they going? To feed? To escape a dangerous predator? When they got there, would they hang out for a while or would they turn right around and start over?

Fin and tail slapping aside, I wish I knew more about the wonders of nature. I am going to look these little guys up and find out what they are all about.

Holy Cow! That is fish??? What would happen if you were swimming and that many fish came by you? I would have a heart attack if I looked down into the water and couldn't see water b/c there were too damn many fish around!
Interesting post.

Did you know we have more information and spend more money and time studying the solar system than we do our oceans!?! I think that's why they scare me. So vast and so mysterious. No thank you.

That is crazy. Dh and I have been to the beach before when there were tons of schools swimming in the tide and it is so weird when you can feel them touching your legs. I did not like it and ended up spending most of the time sitting in the sand. Kaden on the other hand thought and he wanted to stay in the water.
